This was our first of an event packed week, where Belfast City of Sanctuary fosters greater knowledge and understanding between people who have made Belfast their home.
We were pleased to meet and share food and music with a wide range of people.
The PSNI were on hand to provide information. I was delighted to see my friends from the Housing Executive community engagement team were attending.
Donna Nalongo sang and led a drumming circle. Drums are a great way to communicate togetherness.
There was henna decoration and face painting and the apparatus in the shape of a turntable which photographs people as they dance.
There was dancing in the aisles with our very agile Chair Mehrshad demonstrating his skills as a champion dancer!
Gosh what fun!!!
This week we will be East (today) West, North and South with our Great Refugee Week Picnic on Saturday.
Many thanks to our volunteers, Coordinator Israel Eguaogie and many others for today, as well as Skainos for hosting!
