Excellent presentations on Education – Primary and Secondary, and also on ESOL with plenty of time to mingle, chat and sample wonderful food prepared and served by Yallaa which operates a social enterprise in this city centre space, formerly occupied by Tesco Metro.
Our esteemed Chair Mehrshad Esfandiari welcomed our very diverse members and friends to the presentations by Brid Maher, our Vice Chair on the education service here and Arthur McKeown of Belfast Unemployed Resource Centre explained the ESOL (English for Speakers of other Languages) courses provided by the Centre for those people either seeking sanctuary or otherwise making Belfast their home. Thanks also to our excellent Arabic language interpreter for helping us throughout the morning.
At these events, there is good interaction between a wide range of people, and as this was half term, we also had some children accompanying their parents.
An excellent morning!
Thanks also to the lovely staff of Belfast City Council for their warm welcome and assistance throughout our event.
