Schools of Sanctuary Celebration and CRIS (Community Relations in Schools) Buddy Up Launch at Belfast City Hall - Monday 16th September 2019

Teams from Belfast City of Sanctuary went out to monitor the schools, 14 new ones in Belfast and Derry/Londonderry to join the 14 already awarded Schools of Sanctuary.

New schools have worked closely over the past year with the fantastic Intercultural Service of the Education Authority to ensure that each school is welcoming and inclusive for newcomer children. All these schools fall within areas which have vital extra resource put into them from The Executive Office's Urban Villages Initiative. Belfast City of Sanctuary acknowledge the work the strong and vital support from The Executive Office and Intercultural Service of the Education Authority for this program.

It was indeed a wonderful morning of presentations and entertainment by children from the new schools as well as the Buddy Up Launch which is such a good match for our Schools of Sanctuary.
